Terry & Karen Pierce

Peppercorn Belted Galloway Stud was established in 1996 by Terry and Karen Pierce using pure Scottish bloodlines. It is located near Gloucester on the New South Wales Mid North Coast, 3 hours north of Sydney.

Our property "Doma" is approximately 110 acres of mainly undulating ridge country on the Barrington River. It is primarily native pasture with a couple of paddocks of improved pasture. The main water supply is two very large dams that are also used for irrigation. The Barrington River is also a source of water for irrigation for silage and hay production and the property runs approximately 20 stud females and 60 commercial cattle. All the cattle, with the exception of the show animals, are bred and raised on the natural pasture.

"Our belties are bred and thrive on natural pastures and have very quiet temperament. We continuously strive to improve their beef characteristics and aim to breed hardy medium-sized cattle with strong constitutions and good bone structure; cattle that stand straight on good strong feet with strong straight backlines. Our objective is to achieve longevity in our bloodlines with bulls working well into their teen years and females well into their late teens.

We are well on the way to achieving these objectives. DNA samples of all our stud animals are kept on our farm."
