Peppercorn would
like to congratulate both Merv Presland and Peter Koppman on their
stunnng success in taking out top honours in the carcass competitions
at this year's NSW RAS Easter Show. Once again, these committed
men have shown Australia that Belted Galloway beef is the best in
the country!
Merv Presland's Belted
Galloway steer won the Champion Lightweight Carcass, receiving the
Eve Cullen Trophy for the highest scoring Galloway or Belted Galloway
steer. Peter Koppman, considered by many of his peers as the breeder
of the superior beltie carcass, produced two of the three steers
that made up the the Stan Hill team. The team was selected from
only five steers. The Belted Galloway team came second in this all-breeds
competition, pipped at the post only by the Angus, another Scottish
breed.
Peppercorn would
like to thank Merv and Pete for their superb efforts in helping
to demonstrate that Belted Galloways over the years consistently
provide the highest quality meat. People are now recognizing the
importance of the Beltie genetics. Good on you, fellas!
