A Letter from New Zealand
November 2006

Hello Mum and Dad

So much has happened since I saw you last. Thanks for the birthday wishes. Rob said you had rang. Life here is great. Was a bit cold the first week after being in Christchurch. There was this white stuff on the ground one morning - not pleasant at all!!! Things are very green here, and when the sun does shine it is like paradise. I have a group of cows and heifers - very nice I might add - which makes my stay here very enjoyable. I have been herding them daily and guarding the fences, as there are a few other guys close by who would dearly love to be in my paddock. I have made some new friends, and we talk through the fence when our paths cross.

I had a great night about 10 days ago. There is a paddock full of beautiful ladies (some big black ones) that doesn't seem to have a bull running with them. I have noticed Rob in that paddock taking them out as these little stickers turn red - I guess those are his girls and he wants to do the deed in private at the yards. Anyway, there was this big storm and one of these black beauties had lifted the gate off which fell across the biting wire, that seems to be around all the paddocks here, and the gate way was open for me to walk in. I didn't need to be asked twice. A truely blissful night, running on the hill with these lovely ladies. I can't understand why Rob was so wild the next morning - jealous I expect - I felt his blue stick around my backside, which I thought was unnecessary. I am back now with my group, and won't be lead astray again for a while.

Rob comes and sees me each day with my muesli. All this running around has caused me to shed a few kilos - but I am fighting fit and all the better for it.

Went for another truck ride the other day to a show with some of my heifers and that big black cow that I met in CHCH. Quite a lot of cattle there. Noel, the 5 year old bull, came as well. I won the Supreme Champion again, but came 3rd in the all breeds bull class behind a Hereford and Noel. Was feeling a little distracted, as another bull was sniffing around my girls!!!!

Anyway, I hope this finds you well. I am fine, but busy - which I enjoy!!!

Love from your boy
Zula
